Course Requirements
_In your exam, you will answer one question on Emily Dickinson's poetry. You will be given one poem which should form the central basis of your essay, but you will be expected to refer to other poems by Dickinson that reflect similar issues.
The exam is closed book therefore you will need to learn a selection of quotes from each of the poems that you study.This means that you will need to understand the poems in detail both in terms of theme and in terms of close language analysis. In addition to this you will need to understand critical responses to the poems and how they have been interpreted by others.
